Broadest Selection to Cater Your Needs
Noritz has the broadest selection of tankless water heaters in the industry. And we are here to guide you through choosing the right model specifically to your needs. When choosing a tankless model, there are only two things you really need to consider: how big of a system you need, and where do you want it installed. We are Noritz certified platinum installer and licensed contractor, so if you are not sure what system you need, we will be happy to help you size a proper machine for your.
First - Determine Peak Hot Water Demand
To determine which tankless water heater model is right for you, you first need to identify your peak hot water usage.
Peak Hot Water Demand = sum of flow from each fixture operating during peak times.
Common Fixture Flow Rates
Lavatory Sink 1 GPM
Shower 1.6 - 2.5 GPM
Bath Tub 4 - 10 GPM
Dishwasher 1.5 GPM
Washing Macine 2 - 3 GPM
Finding the peak flow of a standard home with 2 showers:
peak demand = 2 showers = 2.4 + 2.4 = 4.8 GPM
Finding the peak flow of a standard home with 4 showers:
Peak Demand = 4 showers = 2.4 + 2.4 +2.4 + 2.4 = 9.6 GPM
Second - Consider Winter Ground Water Temperature
In addition to the number and type of fixtures you want simultaneously served by the tankless water heater, you will also have to consider the temperature of your groundwater. In particular, the winter ground water temperature. The colder the groundwater gets the less hot water can be produced by a unit for a given GPM flow rate.
Each showerhead illustrated below is about 2 GPM, which is roughly what a standard showerhead, bathroom sink, dishwasher, and washing machine would use. Using winter water supply temperature as a reference, you can choose from Noritz broadest selection to meet your peak hot water demand.
Third - Versatile Installation
Noritz tankless water heater can be installed indoor or outdoor and because of its size & weight, they can be wall hung or racked, making spaces once thought impossible, possible.
